Things went catastrophically wrong. It was a real mess. We tried to {compensate|address the situation, but it was like trying to stop a flood with a cocktail stick. We're still picking up the debris and feeling the sting of this disaster.

This crisis has spiraled out of control. It's a total disaster. We've tried just about everything to fix it, but nothing seems to function. At this point, it feels like we're doomed. Frankly, I don't know what else to do. This is a nightmare of epic proportions.

Sometimes you encounter situations so terrible that you can't help but laugh. It's like your brain tries to understand the sheer extent of chaos and just gives up, opting for amusement as a coping mechanism.

But then, you realize that it's not really actually that amusing. It's just plain bad. And the laughter you experienced morphs into a sigh.

Ultimately, you are left with a sense of bewilderment. You wonder about the purpose of it all. Was this some kind of twisted art experiment?

Or were we just all part of a grand, cosmic prank?

Awful Day Ever

It all started with a case of morning hair. I couldn't figure it to look decent. As I was scrambling out the door, I stumbled and badly all over my new shoes. To make matters worse, I was totally late for work.

By the Very bad time I got home, I was exhausted. This day, this horrific day will be forever remembered as an epic fail.

It all started out terribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then it went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to scream into a pillow.
